This is not a yoga teacher training.
Yes—you will learn how to teach yoga. Actually, you’ll learn to teach it well.
You will study sequencing, cueing, anatomy, philosophy, and how to hold a room with clarity and confidence.
But that’s not what this training is about.
This is a container for transforming how you live, relate, and serve—moving from reactivity and self-doubt into embodied awareness.
It’s for people who know that the way they experience the world matters. That how they show up in relationships matters. That teaching yoga responsibly requires more than memorizing poses or delivering a good playlist.
This training is rooted in the understanding that who you are is your most important teaching tool—and that real leadership comes from self-awareness, self-responsibility, and lived integrity.
If you’re ready to be changed by the work—not just trained by it—keep reading.

If you want yoga to actually change your life it cannot be learned passively.
It must be lived. Practiced. Refined. Witnessed. Challenged.
That’s why this training is built around live immersion, direct mentorship, real-time feedback, and embodied practice—not prerecorded videos you watch alone.
This is not an online certification.
This is an immersive, mentorship-driven experience designed to transform how you practice, teach, and lead.
Here’s how the transformation happens
✔ Learn the foundations of yoga — asana, pranayama, philosophy, sequencing, and the nervous system — in a way that makes ancient teachings practical for modern life.
✔ Learn how to construct and confidently lead a clear, safe, intelligent vinyasa class from start to finish.
✔ Learn how to make that class magical — by understanding human behavior, relationship dynamics, the energy body, and what truly creates transformation in a room.
✔ Practice teaching in real time where feedback, refinement, and integration happen fast.
✔ Step into real-world teaching with ongoing mentorship, weekly support, and guidance — so you don’t leave certified but unsure… you leave ready.

Weekly commitments:

Weekly live practice (in-studio & livestream available)
Season Two: Immersion — Make it Magic
This is where the structure becomes transformation.

Practice more than you ever have—super-speeding your learning an integration
Practice teaching in real time
Receive direct, specific feedback
Refine your voice, pacing, and presence

This is where yoga stops being something you “know” and becomes something you embody.
October 10–17, 2026
In-person immersive retreat in Mexico*

Season Three: Step into Teaching
Most yoga teacher trainings will have you leave the training having taught maybe one class. But real teachers and leaders are built with feedback and mentorship. That’s how you become a really good teacher—by practicing teaching and honing your skills along the way. This is one of the most unique parts of our training that you will not find in most other trainings.
In this phase you’ll:
Begin teaching consistently (studio, gym, private, or community—you’ll also have the opportunity to use Honey Yoga’s space if you wish!)
Submit class plans and recordings for feedback
Receive weekly mentorship and integration support
Refine your sequencing, cueing, and leadership skills
Learn how to audition, pitch, and step into professional teaching
You don’t leave certified yet unsure.
You leave practiced and supported.
Important note: not sure you even want to teach? There’s room for that, too, in this training. Reach out anytime to discuss your options. We firmly believe the transformation happens from learning to step into leadership—but that can look many ways!
October 24 – December 5, 2026
Weekly Commitments:
Your own scheduled classes
2 weekly live Honey Yoga classes
Sunday morning group mentorship 8–10 am

Who this training is for…
This training is for you if you feel like you’re standing at a crossroads.
If you love your yoga practice but find yourself craving more than quick-fix stress relief or a good workout—more depth, more meaning, more honesty in how you live and relate.
It’s for people who admire their teachers not just for how they move, but for how they show up—with clarity, steadiness, and integrity.
It’s for those who are not only willing to look inward, but who sense that doing so is the next, crucial step in becoming who they’re meant to be.
It’s also for people who are quietly questioning their current path—who feel the pull toward a career change, a different way of working, or a deeper contribution in the world. For those who want their work to matter more, and who feel called to guide, support, or lead others from lived experience rather than theory.
For people who are curious about their own patterns, nervous system, and relationships—and who sense that real freedom comes not from avoiding discomfort, but from meeting life more consciously.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
But you do need to be willing to engage—with yourself, with the work, and with the process.
And this might not be the training for you if…
You’re looking for the cheapest or easiest way to earn a 200-hour certification.
There’s nothing wrong with that—and there are many programs designed to meet that need.
This training, however, asks for sustained engagement, presence, and a willingness to do deeper work over time.
It may also not be the right fit if you’re not currently open to questioning long-held beliefs or ways of seeing the world.
This work invites nuance, curiosity, and complexity. It gently but consistently asks you to move beyond rigid, black-and-white thinking—about yourself, others, and life itself.
That doesn’t mean you need to arrive already perfectly flexible, healed, or certain.
But to experience the transformation this container offers, you do need to be willing to stay open, reflective, and in relationship with discomfort as it arises.
If that feels like too much right now, that’s okay.
This training (or the right one for you) will be here when—and if—you’re ready for it.
What makes this training different
One of the biggest gaps in many teacher trainings is that people graduate having taught maybe one class.
And then they’re expected to audition, lead a weekly class, or step into a teaching role feeling confident and capable.
That leap is rarely supported. And it leads to teacher training graduates who want to teach, but are having a hard time making it happen. It’s a shame.
Here, we support that leap big time.
Most teacher training graduates don’t receive mentorship until well after they’ve graduated and have been teaching for a while—and that’s if they ever receive it at all.
In this training, the leap from theory and training to real-life teaching with support and mentorship is baked right in.
And that’s what will set you apart.
The World of Yoga Teacher Trainings is a Wild West—for the most part, completely unregulated.
And that fact is morally neutral—there are pros and cons.
One of the cons is that any old Joe Schmo can throw together a couple diagrams, charge you three grand and call it The Best Yoga Teacher Training in San Diego 😇.
And to you, I might also be a Joe Schmo! I can tell you I’ve been leading trainings since 2018, that I pour my heart and soul into it, that I invest in my own mentorship as a mentor and teacher trainer regularly, that people will tell you how great and life-changing the training is. But you don’t have to take my word for it. You can also:
read for yourself in our testimonials (lower down on this very page, and in my bio I share a bit more)
ask to be connected with graduates of this program
meet several graduates of this training and other retreats, classes, and courses I’ve led just by coming into the studio and practicing!
review samples of both classes I’ve taught and portions of past trainings I’ve led
take classes from graduates of this training
find verifiable evidence that I’ve been doing this for years
enter our training confidently knowing we offer a 6-month readiness guarantee (more info below!)
most importantly: set up a time to talk to me one-on-one. In fact, if we don’t know each other already, I insist. I do not want you going into this without having connected with myself or Kaia—your gut will tell you if it’s a good fit or not, and no hard feelings if it’s not :)
The Three “Seasons” of This Unique Program
This training is thoughtfully designed to support real transformation and real skill—so you leave prepared to teach from lived experience, whether that’s in a traditional yoga classroom or in the many other ways teaching and leadership can show up.
Season 1: Foundations
August and September begin with two long-weekend immersions and Sunday sessions that lay the groundwork—philosophically, practically, and relationally. This is where we explore what yoga truly is, what it means to teach and to lead, and how the nervous system shapes the way we move through the world. You’ll study sequencing, cueing, anatomy, and the art of holding space, while also beginning the deeper work of noticing your own patterns and responses. The group container forms here. Trust builds. Questions surface. And the work begins to move off your mat and into your daily life.
August 12 – October 3
Season 2: Our Retreat
The retreat is the heart—the literal center—of the training. Stepping away from daily responsibilities creates the kind of container where real integration becomes possible. Without the noise of everyday life, the nervous system softens, conversations deepen, and learning begins to land in the body. You’ll teach in a supported environment, receive thoughtful feedback, and experience what it feels like to stand at the front of the room from a place of lived practice. Living and learning together accelerates connection, momentum, and insight in a way that simply can’t happen otherwise.
October 10 – 17
Season 3: Practice Teaching & Mentorship
Following the retreat, the focus shifts to practice, refinement, and confidence. You’ll begin teaching in supported settings—receiving feedback, mentorship, and continued group integration as your voice becomes clearer and steadier. For some, this means stepping fully into teaching. For others, it means deepening leadership in whatever context life presents. There is space here for both. The emphasis is not on performance, but on embodiment—so whether you intend to teach publicly or simply want to live your practice more fully, you leave with real skill, real clarity, and real readiness.
October 24 – December 5
A Training Designed for Real Life
The virtual option
With the exception of our week-long retreat in Mexico, this entire training can be attended live via Zoom.
That means whether you’re local to San Diego or joining from somewhere else, you’ll still be fully part of the experience in real time—asking questions, participating in discussions, practice teaching, receiving feedback, connecting with your cohort, and growing alongside us every step of the way.
This is not a prerecorded “watch videos on your own time” certification.
It’s a live, immersive, mentorship-driven experience intentionally designed to give you flexibility without sacrificing depth, connection, or accountability.
And because the hybrid structure is built intentionally into the program, there are also times when the entire group meets remotely together—even local trainees. For example, during busy studio hours on training weekends, we’ll gather together on Zoom for lectures, discussion, and integration work.
In other words: Zoom isn’t the backup plan here. It’s part of the design.
We’ve found this structure allows people to stay deeply engaged in the training while still honoring the realities of work, family, travel, and everyday life—making this experience accessible to more people without losing what makes it transformational.
You Can’t Afford to Half-Ass a Certification Like This
The only way to make money—and indeed, the way to make good money—as a yoga teacher is to become a really good teacher.
Studios rarely hire teachers who’ve only completed prerecorded, fully-online certifications. (As a studio owner, I won’t even audition them—this isn’t to be mean, it’s to save myself time. I’ve never auditioned someone from one of those programs that was ready to teach.)
Great teachers are forged through immersion, feedback, and live practice — not passive consumption.
If you want skill, confidence, and real opportunities — this is the first step towards that.
If You Want Yoga to Actually Change Your Life, You Need More Than a Weekend or a Workbook
Transformation requires immersion, not information.
This program includes a full retreat, real-time practice teaching, and months of mentorship.
You don’t just learn poses — you integrate the work into your life and leadership.
That depth simply doesn’t happen in fast-track or DIY formats.
There is no better time than now to invest in yourself & in this industry—this is one place AI cannot replace us
The global wellness industry is now valued at over $6 trillion and continuing to grow.
Demand for in-person, high-quality experiences is increasing—not decreasing.
Skilled facilitators who can hold powerful spaces are more valuable than ever.
The market is already saturated with mediocre teachers. Being a truly well-prepared, well-trained, embodied yoga teacher is rare, and it is the only way to get opportunities in this industry.
Testimonials
“I really don't have the words to articulate what this program has meant to me. Whatever 2 dimensional goals I had before the program have been replaced by a 3D view of life. Actually, a better image is that of the Wizard of Oz; when Dorothy steps out of her black and white world and enters a vivid land of technicolor.”
– Marcella R., 2025 graduate
“If you want to change your life, do this training.”
– Jo A., 2023 graduate
“More than a teacher training. It’s a transformative experience on so many levels.”
– Erin M., 2023 graduate
“I’m more confident, comfortable showing up as myself, and I feel more equipped to lead and teach than I ever have before.”
– Tamina S., 2025 graduate
“I got the teaching job! YTT helped me answer every question they threw my way. Thank you for being an awesome teacher!”
– Laura R., 2024 graduate
What does a yoga teacher training cost?
If you compared price tags for experiences that include a yoga teaching certificate, you’ll get about about as many answers as there are trainings. It is no secret anymore that you can get a certificate that says you’re a “yoga teacher” for as little as $250, and as much as $5000+.
A prerecorded online certification might cost a few hundred dollars. An in-person training might cost a few thousand or more.
On paper, the choice seems obvious. But what doesn’t get factored in is this:
If you don’t feel confident teaching…
If you don’t get hired…
If you don’t feel ready to lead…
If you didn’t get the incredibly special, sacred experience of going through a Yoga Teacher Training with a cohort of sisters…
If you need to take another training later…
That “cheap” option wasn’t cheap at all. It just delayed the real investment.
On the other side, you could:
Pay for an in-person training in San Diego or nearby
Book a separate retreat somewhere beautiful to really deepen your practice
Invest in mentorship or continuing education so you actually feel ready
Piece together specialty training later
And easily spend $7,000–$10,000 doing it that way. Or…
You can step into one immersive, mentorship-driven experience that integrates all of it—intentionally—from day one.

Bridget Regan
Honey Yoga Co-founder, Director of Teacher Training
Why I built this training: Because yoga lovers and yoga-teacher-hopefuls deserve better.
I graduated yoga teacher training in 2014 determined to be a yoga teacher. I taught anywhere that would take me. whenever they would take me. for however much they were willing to pay me. (Including a 6am class that was a 45-minute drive away. And including a studio that I got paid per-head only which meant I was regularly teaching for $5, $10 🤪.)
But in all those years, not one studio owner or senior teacher ever gave me real feedback. No mentorship. No refinement.
When I opened Honey in 2017 and started auditioning teachers, I realized something alarming: by likely no fault of their own, most new (and even several not-so-new) yoga teachers couldn’t actually teach a strong class.
So I built the kind of training I wish more teachers had—one rooted in depth, mentorship, real feedback, and real standards.
Since the first yoga teacher training I led in 2018, I have learned a lifetime’s worth of lessons about teaching, leadership, learning, and yoga. In preparation for every next training I ask myself, How can I make this even better? How can I help them become even better teachers by the end, and even more importantly, how can I be better at creating a space conducive to the sort of self-discovery and growth-seeking that I know will take them closer to true freedom—which is the whole point of yoga. And the most fun way to live.
Kind words from graduates & students about Bridget
“Bridget brings deep wisdom to her approach to yoga and her ability to articulate that wisdom is undisputed. It's so evident how much she genuinely loves teaching YTT students. She pays close attention, calmly provides direct guidance, and might have been put on this earth to do exactly this job. Bridget makes the work she does seem effortless and somehow always manages to make herself available if students need one-on-one time. I love her grounded, down to earth teaching style - no fluff or filler to be found. At the same time, Bridget makes space for everyone to live their truth and genuinely wants her students to progress.” –Maria C., 2025 grad.
“Bridget has a vast web of knowledge that I felt truly grateful to learn from. Her wisdom and experience translated into powerful lessons that prepared us for a wide range of real-life teaching moments. She brings such depth, honesty, and authenticity. I really admire how raw and real she is. She created so much space for us to learn, make mistakes, and be vulnerable. As someone who's Indian, I also appreciated how she honored all aspects and roots of yoga, something that often gets lost in modern day practice.” –Tamina S., 2025 grad.
“AMAZING. Can Bridget just keep leading YTT for the rest of our lives?” –Marcella R., 2025 grad.
“I got the teaching job! YTT helped me answer every question they threw my way. Thank you for being an awesome teacher!” –Laura R., 2024 grad.

Honey Yoga’s Lead Teacher, Co-leader of our Retreats & Trainings
Kaia is an experienced and dedicated yoga instructor with a deep-rooted passion for the practice. With over 20 years of personal experience in yoga, she embarked on her journey at the age of 11 and has been cultivating a profound understanding of the mind-body connection since. Kaia's teaching style is encouraging and spirited, nurturing her students' physical and spiritual growth. Her classes focus on alignment and breath awareness, creating a space where students can explore their potential, both on and off the mat.
Kind words from graduates & students about Kaia
“Kaia is sweet and grounding - a nice mix of playful and serious. She shared a lot of important foundational knowledge in a way that felt simple and easy to digest. It was also really encouraging to hear from someone who’s a relatively new teacher herself. Her perspective felt relatable. She's also someone that carries herself with respect, integrity, and classiness, so overall just a great role model.” –Maria C., 2025 grad.
“Kaia is a bona fide listener, a keen observer. She makes interesting connections between what we share as students and what else might be there for us to explore. Kaia brought such helpful insight when she shared her own YTT journey and is someone who truly seems to live a life devoted to the yogic principles that guide her - so inspiring! She is able to break down asana very clearly and really has a gift for teaching in a grounded, calm manner”. –Tamina S., 2025 grad.
“AMAZING. Can Kaia just be my life coach?” –Marcella R., 2025 grad.
FAQ
-
We strongly recommend that you are able to attend at least 80% of the training live.
And by “live,” we don’t necessarily mean in person — attending via Zoom in real time absolutely counts. We know life happens, and this training was intentionally designed to be flexible enough for people with jobs, families, travel plans, etc.
That said, because this training is so experiential and mentorship-based, being there live really matters.
We make exceptions on a case-by-case basis and genuinely want to make this work for you, so if you have concerns about scheduling, just reach out and let’s talk.
-
Airfare is not included.
But once you land in Puerto Vallarta, pretty much everything else is.
Your accommodations, transportation to and from Xinalani, all meals, and all training sessions/classes during the retreat are included in your tuition.
The only things not included are:
Spa services
Specialty drinks/alcohol from the bar
Any personal shopping/extras
And yes — it is as magical as it looks 😭🌴
-
Honestly, not a ton in the traditional sense.
Outside of the training hours themselves, the biggest thing we want you doing is practicing your teaching.
There will occasionally be readings, reflections, small assignments, or prep work between sessions, but this is not the kind of training where you’re drowning in busywork.
The emphasis is much more on integration, embodiment, and actual teaching practice.
-
Yes.
We offer a payment plan option, and if you don’t see something online that works for you, reach out.
We really do want to make this training accessible for the right people, and we’re happy to talk through different options when possible.
-
Nope.
Many people join because they know they want to teach. Others join because they want to deepen their practice, challenge themselves, reconnect with themselves, or immerse more fully in yoga.
By the end, many people who originally “weren’t sure” end up wanting to teach.
And some don’t.
Both are completely okay.
-
Many of our trainees do.
The structure was intentionally created for people with real lives, jobs, families, and responsibilities.
The training does require commitment and presence, but it is designed to be doable alongside full-time work for most people.
Of course, for our training intensives and our retreat, you’d need to arrange around your schedule with your workplace. -
Absolutely not.
You do not need to be able to handstand, arm balance, touch your toes, or look a certain way in poses.
We care much more about curiosity, willingness to learn, openness to feedback, and desire to grow.
Some of the best teachers are not the “most advanced” practitioners physically.
-
This training is rooted primarily in vinyasa yoga, but you’ll also learn principles that apply across many styles and modalities.
More importantly, you’ll learn how to teach — not just how to memorize sequences.
We spend a lot of time on things like:
leadership
nervous system regulation
communication
sequencing
holding space
reading a room
authentic teaching
