Meet Dj Dumeng

My name is D’Amani Jaelene, but I’ve gone by Dj since birth - I am originally from San Digeo, and have grown up playing competitive softball my entire life. After unexpectedly losing my father at the age of 17, yoga found me (really it felt more like saving me.) The practice reminded me of the light within myself, and reflected a light in a world that had become dark. From this feeling I was certain I wanted to share yoga with as many as I could. I had never practiced in a studio before (Only on Youtube, shoutout Yoga with Adriene), and somehow found myself enrolled into Honey Yoga’s 200hr Teacher Training - I ended up graduating in April of 2023! It has been an absolute honor to learn and grow alongside this community not only as a student, but being able to build my practice as a teacher HERE has been nothing short of pure magic. Thank you for being on this journey with me, and I hope to see you in a class sometime <3

Teaches:
Honey Flow, HIIT, HIIT-Flow Fusion

The vibe at class:
Flow: Connecting.to.MAGIC!
HIIT: Strong. Empowering. Playful.

  • In my class I hope to create an inviting environment where you feel seen and supported.

I love encouraging you to find what feels good, and I always try to remind you that the magic is just simply in showing up; continuing to arrive back to the mat, back to the breath.

My intention is to guide you through a class that ignites a fire within - Whether that’s connecting to your physical strength, or being reminded of your emotional strentgh, remembering the passion you once had, or finding a new spark within - Whatever it is, I want the movement in my class to be inspiring, and for the breath to be felt beyond the physical body.

Expect alot of subtle body ques, I LOVE the energetic body to be felt throughout my classes.

  • I wish everyone knew that yoga is for everyBODY!!!! I truly believe that the principles of this practice have the power to heal the world.

  • Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana) or Flying Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Galavasana)

Both of these poses were some of the first arm balances I learned, and I remember feeling so damn empowered and connected to my strength like never before. Secretly, I love these poses because they make me feel like a breakdancer and that really lights up my inner child! >.<

  • Walking my dog Jasper in our neighborhood, or anywhere that catches our attention!

At home cooking vegan meals, and making bomb smoothies/juices.

Playing at the beach or the bay!! Watching baseball (specifcally the Yankees, but I’ll support the Pads;)  Finding new yoga studios/class styles! & Eating as much sushi/poke as possible.
